Unisys Integrates McAfee Foundstone Into Global Security Operations Centre Infrastructure

25 January 2006

McAfee, Inc. (NYSE: MFE), the leader in Intrusion Prevention and Security Risk Management, today announced that Unisys, a global leader in outsourced managed security and network services, has implemented McAfee Foundstone as the vulnerability management component of its managed security services.

Unisys leverages McAfee's closed-loop, appliance-based security solution to manage its customers' business risks by identifying vulnerabilities in external-facing and internal infrastructure, correlating those vulnerabilities against potential attacks, and responding and remediating true threats based on prior asset discovery and prioritization. Unisys also uses the solution to scan client data center infrastructure to ascertain whether server configurations are in compliance with corporate security policies, helping clients meet external audit standards.

"As a leader in managed network and application security services, it is a requirement to be able to correlate the hundreds of millions of security events we manage each day to known customer vulnerabilities," said John Summers, Global Director Managed Security Services, Unisys. "We implemented McAfee as a major component of our core security environment due to its industry-leading vulnerability management capabilities, proven track record and ease of integration into our ArcSight-based security event management infrastructure. Adding McAfee Foundstone to our security solutions suite furthers Unisys' capability to manage clients' IT infrastructure and help them realize key benefits of secure business operations: greater focus on their core business with minimized risks, higher infrastructure availability, and improved operational efficiency and cost control."

McAfee Foundstone is ideal for service providers due to:

* Ease of deployment -- McAfee's hardened appliances deploy within

minutes, and require no maintenance, as McAfee provides all

application and operating systems via its automated update service

* Scalability -- Scalable to a Class A network, with unmatched scan

engine speed and low bandwidth utilization

* Open architecture -- Seamlessly integrates with existing database,

network and system management solutions

* Intuitive metrics -- FoundScore, MyFoundScore and Risk Score

demonstrate ROI of security investment by measuring risk reduction

and policy compliance over time

* Threat correlation -- Automatically updates risk profile for new

vulnerabilities or threats, instantly risk-ranking impact of new

malware, as well as benchmark threat response by business unit,

geography and platform

* Backed by McAfee research: Over 100 researchers around the world

support the McAfee Risk Management solutions, including Foundstone

"We are very excited to be working with Unisys in providing their customers with value-added vulnerability assessment," said George Kurtz, SVP of risk management, McAfee. "In today's business environment, it is imperative that customers are aware of the threats and vulnerabilities that exist. By providing them with a customized vulnerability assessment analysis, they are able to take the precautionary measures necessary to secure their networks and ensure business continuity."
