TechBiz Connection Sponsors Cyber Security Summit

TechBiz Connection will sponsor a Cyber Security Summit at its monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 18, 2005, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at Connexion by Boeing.

Moderated by Mark Liphardt, CEO of Computer Forensics Management Corp., five industry executives and an FBI special agent will look at the issues involved in protecting corporate assets.

The panel features Bill Hancock, chief security officer of Savvis Int'l; Dr. Stan Stahl, vice president of ISSA Los Angeles; Firas Bushnaq, CTO/co-founder, eEye Digital Security; E.J. Hilbert, special agent, cyber crime for the FBI; Dr. Gary Stowell, vice president, business development/product management, St. Bernard Software; and Andrea Hoy, president, ISSA Orange County.

Liphardt is founder and past chairman of the Association of Internet Professionals, a senior staff member and organizer of Defcon, the world's largest hacker and security conference and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. With 35 years of broad-ranging experience in the computer and communications industries, Liphardt has been responsible for the management of security and forensic teams and the design of forensic labs and methodologies.

Bill Hancock has been featured on CNN, ABC, NBC, BBC, FOX; written 31 security books; and sits on the FCC Technology Advisory Board.

Dr. Stan Stahl sits on the editorial board of Continuity Insights and the advisory board of the Regional Information Systems Security Center (RISSC). He has performed security projects for Department of Defense, NASA, and the Presidential Task Force.

Firas Bushnaq is Network World Magazine's Clear Choice designation and successfully established two previous software development companies: WinWare and Avataro.

E.J. Hilbert is based with the FBI's Los Angeles bureau. He has expertise in computer intrusions and fraud with a primary focus on international hacking groups and their carder (individuals who commit online credit card fraud) counterparts.

Dr. Gary Stowell has held director and officer level positions in several electronics and software companies. Former responsibilities have included engineering, marketing and operations management.

Andrea Hoy is a virtual CSO and the first chief information security director and data privacy officer for Fluor Daniel. She has been involved in numerous committees in Washington, D.C., with expertise on establishing policies and procedures that comply with the European Union Privacy Directive, among others.
