Secure Elements Announces Support for Network Access Protection Technology From Microsoft

9 November 2005

Secure Elements, Inc., a leader in enterprise vulnerability management and compliance risk reduction solutions, today announced support for Microsoft's Network Access Protection technology, an extensible architecture based on industry-accepted standards that enables customers to monitor and control network access based on validation of a computer's compliance against pre-established policies.

Network Access Protection technology delivers a uniform method for detecting the health state of a client attempting to connect to a network; restricting network access until compliance to policy is validated, and updating the client to current security policy levels. Secure Elements' C5 Enterprise Vulnerability Management Suite is scheduled to integrate with Microsoft's Network Access Protection technology, and includes modules for asset inventory and control, audit and compliance management, active policy enforcement, and vulnerability assessment and remediation.

"We're pleased to welcome Secure Elements as a supporter of Network Access Protection technology," said Mike Schutz, senior product manager, Windows Server division at Microsoft Corp. "By supporting an open, standards-based solution such as Network Access Protection technology, Secure Elements enables customers to lower the cost of managing network access while simultaneously providing more control to IT and security professionals."

Secure Elements' support of Network Access Protection technology emphasizes Secure Elements' commitment to providing security solutions based on an open architecture that supports leading industry initiatives.

"Secure Elements believes in providing customers with solutions that are built upon widely supported, open, and secure technologies," said Scott Armstrong, vice president of product management. "Microsoft's commitment to industry standards in the Network Access Protection architecture is aligned with our product strategy. By supporting Network Access Protection, we address a significant pain point for enterprises and provide a cost effective solution that simplifies rapid, secure and compliant network access."
