Private Trading Systems Announces Appointment of Steven J. Caldwell as Outside Director Nominee for Board

Private Trading Systems, Inc. (Pink Sheets:PVTD - News) announces the appointment of Steven J. Caldwell as Outside Director Nominee for the Company's Board of Directors. Mr. Caldwell is a respected information technology professional creating and selling programs to financial markets and consumers. He will assist the Board and the Executive Team in technology implementation and commercialization.

After receiving his MBA from Harvard Business School, Mr. Caldwell acted as Special Assistant to the Director of Materiel Acquisition, U.S. Army Materiel Command. A Planning Manager at Exxon, he served on Exxon's venture capital team becoming their first Director of Business Planning of Exxon Office Systems. Recruited by Alltel as Vice President Marketing, Mr. Caldwell developed a market orientation plan after the breakup of AT&T, coordinating the introduction of ISDN and the application of new technologies. He became a founding partner VP Sales and Marketing for BidNet, received venture funding from Dun & Bradstreet, set up an electronic distribution of state and local bid documents processing 1000 transactions a day.

As President of Ziff-Davis Technical Information Company, Mr. Caldwell turned around their unprofitable CDROM/database business distributing information from 30 NICPs for the DOD. He created a six set CDROM package that made it possible to find products sold to the DOD using various and different criteria. While President of Ziff Technologies, Mr. Caldwell acquired three computer-training companies. These companies' hands-on training techniques were transferred to CDROM and used to complement Ziff's computer publications PC Magazine, Computer Shopper, PCWeek.

As Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Associate Publisher at Corporate Technology Information Services, Mr. Caldwell moved the product mix from material available in printed directories to material available by electronic distribution on CDROM and floppy disk based products. The company was made profitable after 9 years, increasing sales 50% while holding sales/marketing expenses constant. As a Vice President & General Manager at EBSCO Publishing, he created an online full text database of 3000 magazines and newspapers, and a directory of 50,000 newsworthy U.S. companies.

As General Manager/President at Thomson Financial/fnReporter.com, Mr. Caldwell developed an online service for investors and financial professionals that extracted the most relevant documents containing business events of all public companies. This instantaneous e-mail news service detected events from public news sources that could change the price of a stock. The service reported all publicly traded company events storing the results in a database for easy retrieval. As Vice President B2B Internet Services at Chiliad Publishing, he developed the specifications and approach to create a B2B universal directory of goods and services. The directory is composed of the 500,000 businesses worldwide that offer products and services found in a registry developed through an open, Internet-based Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration (UDDI) specification.
