Privacyware and Quest Software Team to Deliver Advanced Enterprise Security and IT Compliance Capabilities

21 September 2005

Privacyware, an innovative provider of threat prevention and security data analysis solutions, today announced the successful integration of Privacyware's Adaptive Security Analyzer with version 8.5 of Quest Software's InTrust for Windows software product.

"Adaptive Security Analyzer is representative of Privacyware's strong competency in anomaly analysis methods," said Lance Masten, InTrust product manager, Quest Software. "Integrating these capabilities within InTrust provides our customers the ability to evaluate, trend and report on large volumes of system and security events, and helps them to address IT compliance objectives within Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA and other similar regulations. Administrators can now be more proactive by trending user activity in their day-to-day security practices."

Adaptive Security Analyzer is an enterprise security data analysis application that emulates the cognitive capacity of system administrators to identify unusual and/or malicious activity from high-volume system and device data. Because it does not rely on pre-defined associations between event variables to derive unique and meaningful output, Adaptive Security Analyzer delivers an important enhancement to conventional data collection, correlation and reporting applications. Adaptive Security Analyzer allows enterprise security administrators and those responsible for managing compliance to more effectively identify, understand and respond to threats and atypical behavior.

InTrust for Windows is a key product in the Quest Compliance Suite for Windows, which enables IT organizations to establish a baseline of who has access to critical information, track how that access is used, and through real-time alerting, know when critical violations occur. Engineers from Quest and Privacyware collaborated on the development of a set of analytic models specific to InTrust for Windows data formats and the types of potentially malicious activity of highest interest and value to InTrust customers.

"Quest has been a vital partner to Privacyware in this implementation of the Adaptive Security Analyzer," stated Privacyware CEO Greg Salvato. "We greatly value their commitment and foresight during the product integration phase and look forward to ensuring that InTrust clientele are able to realize direct and measurable value from the unique threat analysis capabilities afforded by our technology."
