Precise Biometrics adds SAFLINK as one more Match-on-Card partner16 January 2005
Precise Biometrics AB (publ), which develops and sells world leading and user-friendly biometric security solutions based on fingerprints, has licensed Precise Match-on-Card(TM) technology to yet another partner. With Precise Match-on-Card (MoC) technology SAFLINK will add an additional security component to their jForte(TM) card, a high assurance token designed for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and similar agencies.

One of the advantages of the jForte's Smart Card technology is that it can be used as a portable authentication token, where an individual's biometric credentials are stored and matched on the card, enabling users to verify their identity anywhere - a particularly useful characteristic in a multi-office, multi-agency, or military context such as the DoD's Common Access Card. A jForté card equipped with Precise Match-on-Card adds the capability to verify the identity of an individual, without their biometric credentials ever leaving the card - thereby providing an additional layer of privacy protection for the individual card holder. With the Precise Match-on-Card technology, jForté can offer SAFLINK customers a high performance and high assurance biometrics-based smart card solution. Affuso continued: SAFLINK has DoD customers who require independent biometric capabilities. All the biometric functions - data capture, data processing/reduction, template generation, and hybrid matching algorithms are implemented within a single microchip on the card, and do not require external computer assistance."
