Mitek Systems Unveils Enhanced Version of QuickStrokes25 January 2005
Mitek Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: MITK), a leading developer of image-based forgery prevention and recognition technologies, announced the availability of QuickStrokes(R) 3.1, an advanced programmer's development kit that enables software developers and systems integrators to incorporate document processing and character recognition tools into a comprehensive, automated document processing system. QuickStrokes 3.1 has enhanced features, including improved CAR/LAR accuracy, improved MICR reading and QuickStrokes Dispatcher, which will significantly reduce the setup time in creating form definitions for internal bank documents. QuickStrokes Dispatcher, the most recent application, automates the setup and configuration of internal bank documents. The application identifies document types and creates ready-to-use form definitions, which decreases processing time and manual work by weeks while maintaining recognition accuracy. Its improved features and new setup options create an easy-to-use system, reduce data entry costs by up to 90 percent and can recognize both the courtesy and legal amounts (CAR/LAR) with the highest accuracy rate in the industry. With a typical collection of checks, QuickStrokes 3.1 will read at least 80 percent correctly at a high confidence and with an error rate of less than one percent. The solution reads machine-printed text, hand-printed text, numerous bar codes and check boxes. The application is "intelligent" enough to accept most machine-print fonts and most hand-printing styles without advance training. Fields may be of any size, from single words and multi-line zones to an entire page, and may be rotated in any of the four main directions. "Major financial institutions, corporations and government organizations worldwide rely on QuickStrokes for comprehensive check and document processing," said Bill Galusha, director of Product Management of Mitek Systems. "With the new QuickStrokes 3.1, financial institutions are provided with even more options. The key element added to this system reduces the amount of manual work, which results in more efficient document processing. In turn, banks can rely on this system to provide higher return-on-investment not only in terms of time, but also in terms of improved costs and labor savings. We continuously look to improve our products to meet the changes in regulations, procedures and technology that financial institutions face."
