McAfee Launches Mobile Security Solutions at 3GSM14 February 2006
McAfee, Inc. (NYSE: MFE) the leading dedicated security technology company today announced it has developed a mobile security platform, McAfee(R) Mobile Security, which has been architected, designed and implemented specifically for the mobile ecosystem including operators, manufacturers, enterprises, and consumers. McAfee Mobile Security provides the technology to deploy embedded and after-market mobile security solutions that will encompass anti-virus, firewall, content filtering, anti-spam and anti-spyware capabilities. McAfee's flagship product is McAfee VirusScan(R) Mobile.

McAfee VirusScan Mobile is also the only product designed from the ground up for mobile protection. It protects mobile devices against threats that originate from e-mail, instant messaging and Internet downloads, and protects multiple entry points including SMS, MMS and Bluetooth. Partnership Opportunities
McAfee's mobile security solutions will be marketed and sold to operators, manufacturers, distributors, enterprises and consumers. The products will be sold via subscriptions with the option to renew on an annual basis.
McAfee offers a variety of deployment options to its partners:
Operators. Mobile operators can provide McAfee Mobile security services to their users via pre-install directly on devices or as an aftermarket product via a download directly on handsets. Benefits include generating additional revenue streams, increasing customer retention rates, attracting new customers, and improving brand image. McAfee also offers a network protection solution that employs McAfee's mobile content screening technologies, and is compatible with other network elements from several mobile industry partners.
Manufacturers. By embedding McAfee Mobile Security, the only embedded end- to-end solution in the market today, into devices; manufacturers maintain device integrity and differentiate their products from the competition. They can also offer aftermarket security solutions to subscribers for download directly to devices or by bundling them for shipment with the device.
Distributors. Distributors can expand their mobile businesses by adding McAfee Mobile Security to a growing list of mobile products and services they offer through their value added resellers and system integrators. This channel will extend McAfee's reach into the marketplace, ensuring broader reach globally.
Enterprises. Comprehensive mobile protection from malware attacks is essential to enterprises in order to protect corporate data and ensure employee productivity as well as meet regulatory compliance requirements for data protection. McAfee currently protects employees' PocketPC mobile devices and the enterprise network from malware and security breaches either via over- the-air downloads or through PC connections. It features the infrastructure to handle virus outbreaks, billing options, secure transaction capabilities, shared authentication, monthly / annual subscription models, product fulfillment via Web download, a reporting architecture, and access to customizable marketing and advertising materials.
Custom and Standard Affiliate programs include co-branding capabilities, revenue share opportunities, access to content inventory, banner ads, marketing plans and monthly reports.
Channel billing model allows partners to deploy VirusScan Mobile and access McAfee's channel billing system including transaction processing, integration with a service provider's billing system, scheduled reconciliation, and product fulfillment via a Web download.
Pricing: McAfee VirusScan Mobile is priced at $29.99 for a one year subscription. McAfee offers tiered pricing on McAfee VirusScan Mobile Enterprise.
