Ingate Introduces Firewall 1900 and SIParator 90 for Large Enterprises

Ingate® Systems(http://www.ingate.com), which develops firewall technology and productsthat enable SIP-based live communication for the enterprise whilemaintaining control and security at the network edge, unveils new hardwaredesigned specifically for large enterprises: the Ingate Firewall® 1900and Ingate SIParator® 90.

With the greatest capacity of Ingate's full line of Firewalls andSIParators, the 1900 and 90 offer large corporations complete support forIP communications based on SIP, including VoIP, IM and video applications.They solve the Network Address Translation (NAT) traversal issues inherentin SIP communications, and allow for both far- and near-end NAT traversalto extend the SIP capabilities within the corporate network to remoteworkers.

Both products feature Ingate's SIP proxy technology, which delivers maximumcontrol over SIP signaling, traffic and network security, creating onetruly converged network for both data and VoIP. With Ingate products,enterprises can use VoIP and other live communications on the LAN andglobally over the Internet or private IP networks.

Capacity and Features

Both the Ingate Firewall 1900 and SIParator 90 have eight interfaces, ofwhich two are mini Gbic that can be used for fiber optic interfaces givinggreater flexibility and offer 2600 Mbit/s throughput. The new products arecapable of handling 1200 concurrent VoIP calls (e.g. RTP sessions).

The 1900 and 90 include 50 SIP user licenses that can be used for theregistration of SIP users on the built-in SIP registrar. Twenty five SIPtraversal licenses are also included, allowing up to 25 calls to traversethe firewall simultaneously. Additional SIP user and traversal licensescan be purchased at any time.

All Ingate Firewalls and SIParators are fully featured, supporting statefulinspection and packet filtering with rules defined and maintained by thenetwork security administer utilizing the GUI. They include an encryptedVirtual Private Network (VPN) termination module. In addition to completesupport for SIP, Ingate Firewalls have a proxy for all standard protocolsincluding TCP, UDP, FTP and DHCP.

Encrypted VoIP Calls

Ingate supports encrypted RTP (Realtime Transport Protocol), which providesa high level of security for live data with advanced encryption,confidentiality, message authentication, and replay protection. Encryptionmakes it almost impossible for eavesdroppers to retrieve the original mediastream from the encrypted stream.

Ingate recently completed the world's first successful VoIP call using SRTPto encrypt the media.

In addition, both the Firewall 1900 and SIParator 90 support TransportLayer Security (TLS) for secure SIP signaling. When combined withencrypted RTP, these protocols further shield users from eavesdroppers,hackers and spoofers.
