FLIR Systems Receives Order for Petrochemical Perimeter Security

FLIR Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: FLIR) announced today that it has received a contract from a leading petrochemical company to provide thirty-two (32) ThermoVision® Integration Series thermal imaging cameras for use in perimeter security at key locations. The cameras will be used by the customer as part of a program to further increase security at a selected number of sites worldwide.

The company, who requested not to be identified, evaluated the efficacy of thermal imaging in security systems by conducting a pilot program several months ago using FLIR cameras. The new ThermoVision Integration Series systems will be used in conjunction with an intelligent video monitoring solution to detect security breaches automatically. Deliveries are expected to take place in the third quarter of 2005.

The ThermoVision Integration Series, introduced in early 2005, is FLIR's low-cost entry into the fixed security camera market. The ThermoVision Integration Series cameras take advantage of FLIR's latest low-cost uncooled technology -- the Indigo Photon™ detector -- and offer short to medium range performance in an environmentally robust package. Integration Series cameras are specifically designed to easily integrate into existing or new security networks.

As with FLIR's other security products, the ThermoVision Integration Series cameras have the unique capability of providing true 24/7 coverage by offering high quality imagery in total darkness and through most fog, smoke, rain, and other environmental conditions.
