At the International Computer Security Association (ICSA), later known as TruSecure, she drove the company’s public relations efforts from 1994-2000. Her efforts grew awareness of the organization through top level story placement, press and analyst tours, high-level speaking opportunities for executives, and thought leadership programs. After a spell on the agency side, Barb returned to the vendor community as Communications Director for PestPatrol, the company that essentially created the commercial anti-spyware business.
