Connecticut Technology Council Seeks E-Mail Security, Selects New IBM Solution from NSI

14 September 2005

The Connecticut Technology Council (CTC) has decided to eliminate unwanted e-mail by utilizing the new E-mail Security Service from IBM’s SMB Express Portfolio.

NSI, working as the CTC’s IT service provider, instantly became aware the Council was being inundated with spam. Recognizing the Council did not want to invest in an e-mail security system that required additional hardware and technical resources to implement, NSI quickly recommended another solution.

As an IBM Premier Business Partner, NSI identified the new IBM E-mail Security Service that employs a comprehensive suite of services to scan and monitor e-mail before it reaches a network. “It was simple to acquire and implement for our staff,” said Matthew Nemerson, President & CEO of the CTC. “We have now eliminated spam, the benefits were immediate, we only pay for what we use, and we are thrilled.”
IBM is offering its new E-mail Security Service on an affordable pay-per-user basis.

“This provides the CTC and other small to medium sized organizations a low-cost and highly effective solution to spam, viruses, and undesirable e-mail content,” said Tom McDonald, NSI Chief Operating Officer. "By creating a multi-layered defense that proactively repels spam and viruses at their source, organizations can now get ahead of troublemakers who are always looking for new ways of penetrating IT systems through e-mail."

NSI is also proud to be a corporate sponsor of the Connecticut Technology Council.
