Cigital, Inc. and 'IEEE Security & Privacy' Magazine Introduce the Silver Bullet Security Podcast With Gary McGraw

17 May 2006

Cigital, Inc., a leading software quality management (SQM) consulting firm, together with "IEEE Security & Privacy" magazine, today announced that Chief Technology Officer Gary McGraw, Ph.D., will host a series of podcasts. The first podcast is available now on both the Cigital website and the IEEE Computer Society website.

The "Silver Bullet Security Podcast with Gary McGraw" will initially feature a series of in-depth interviews of security gurus. The first features a 20-minute conversation with Johns Hopkins University professor Avi Rubin, who is best known for his groundbreaking work in electronic-voting security.

In addition to the audio podcasts and associated RSS feeds, excerpts of the interviews will be published in each issue of "IEEE Security & Privacy" magazine. "The podcast interview medium is a fun and entertaining way to get to know more about prominent security experts," said McGraw. "Avi and I had a great time putting the first edition of Silver Bullet together. The entire series will be a blast."

McGraw is a renowned security expert himself, having authored a number of best-selling books in computer security, including his latest, "Software Security: Building Security In" (Addison-Wesley). His perspective as a veteran security expert gives the Silver Bullet podcasts a unique twist.
