6 October 2005

Codehost, Inc. the leading provider of Unix and Linux printing solutions, together with Objectif Lune, a leader in transactional forms, variable data printing and output management, today announced the availability of BrightLinQ. BrightLinQ gives Unix and Linux customers a flexible and easy-to-use solution to manage their transactional variable data printing needs.

BrightLinQ is a result of a collaborative development between Codehost and Objectif Lune that allows seamless communication between BrightQ and PlanetPress Suite for Unix and Linux variable data printing. BrightQ behaves in the same manner as a printer driver would in a Windows environment to make configuring and printing simple, while achieving a high level of optimization of the output files sent to print devices. PlanetPress, the document design tool of Objectif Lune's suite of products, can directly receive data from BrightQ allowing for easier design of PlanetPress forms that integrate transaction and report data coming from a Unix or Linux platforms to increase document workflow efficiency, output versatility and consistency.

"BrightLinQ, is a connector that merges the strength of Planet Press' variable data printing capabilities with BrightQ's ability to handle printer and print queue management in the Unix and Linux world," said Jack Winters, VP of business development at Codehost. Winters goes on to say, "The corporate world, including the data center, is seeing growth in Linux and Unix usage. This combined development enables customers to keep transactional printing tasks in house. Coupled with our OEM partners who manufacture devices with sophisticated printing and output handling capabilities, users can not only print their data but they can utilize these options to produce high quality finished documents. This allows customers to get the most out of their investment whether they are printing from Windows or Unix and Linux based clients."

As established and sophisticated digital printing solution providers, Codehost and Objectif Lune share a vision of supporting enterprise wide document solutions with innovative development.

"We are excited about the power and ease of use this will bring to the market. Unix customers will experience an easy way to print sophisticated forms with a simple drop down menu just as in the Windows world allowing for greater efficiency and great flexibility," says Didier Gombert, President and CEO of Objectif Lune.
