AuthenTec Biometric Fingerprint Sensors Showcased at CES30 December 2004
Biometric fingerprint sensors from AuthenTec, Inc., the recognized number one semiconductor provider of fingerprint sensors to the global market, will be highlighted during presentations and showcased in demonstrations at the Consumer Electronics Show January 6-9 in Las Vegas .
The fast-growing use of fingerprint biometrics in consumer products will be the focus of a panel discussion entitled "Security Issues in the Marketplace" on January 7. Jeff Lee, director of product marketing for AuthenTec, will highlight how fingerprint sensors are already being used today to provide convenient security in more than 4 million consumer products, and discuss results from a recent survey showing that U.S. consumers are willing to pay a premium to add biometrics to their electronic devices.
Consumer products protected with AuthenTec sensors also will be showcased in a variety of other presentations and product displays by companies such as Motion Computing, APC, MicroSolutions and others.
AuthenTec representatives also will be available to demonstrate a host of new consumer electronic devices throughout the show at the Innovations Plus hall, meeting room 71765M. To set up an interview or private demonstration, contact Jim Burke, Vice President, AuthenTec, at 321-308-1320 or jim.burke@authentec.com.
