American Stock Exchange Continues to Reap HR Dividends With CheckPoint HR Payroll Automation Solution17 March 2006
Edison, NJ, (March 15, 2006) -- CheckPoint HR, LLC, an innovator and leading Administrative Service Organization (ASO) that offers small- to mid-size organizations a single source to automate human resources, payroll and benefits administration operations, today announced that the American Stock Exchange (Amex) continues to achieve efficiencies with its payroll functions and benefits administration through its partnership with CheckPoint HR. Amex, the only primary exchange that offers trading across a full range of equities, options and exchange traded funds (ETFs) is leveraging CheckPoint HR s technology platform to support its 400-plus employees located in their New York office. "We have played an integral role in Amex payroll operations for the past three years and look forward to expanding our offering to include recruiting tools and employee self service in 2006," said Tim Padva, co-founder and President, CheckPoint HR. In 2002, NASD spun off Amex forcing HR Vice President Catherine Casey and her department to mobilize quickly to shift the payroll function without disrupting the employee pay cycle. After evaluating several vendors, Casey selected CheckPoint HR. Prior to this selection, CheckPoint HR s data center had to pass an intense internal audit by Securities Information Automation Corporation (SIAC), the premier securities IT firm that runs the computer systems and communications networks for the Amex and New York Stock Exchange. This step was necessary to validate CheckPoint HR s IT capability. The success of the project was contingent on mapping Amex data with CheckPoint HR s human resources management system. In addition, CheckPoint HR also provided Amex with its own benefits platform and tools for enrollment. In a mere three months, CheckPoint HR transferred payroll functions to meet the December 26, 2002 deadline. CheckPoint HR transferred payroll processing to its operations, which included a data center and a mirror site in Clearwater, Florida. CheckPoint HR has kept the exchange s payroll function operating seamlessly since 2002. In addition to alleviating the stress of processing checks, CheckPoint HR has also helped Amex streamline their internal HR resources and increased productivity of existing staff to focus on more strategic functions. "I personally got an hour back every day," Casey said. "I was able to also eliminate some resources thanks to the efficiencies we gained on this. As a result, we were able to utilize our budget to address other needs." Casey credits the work of staff members at the AMEX and CheckPoint HR for executing in time. "The fact that we were able to do it in that short of time really illustrates what great team work there was and what a good fit the solution was. CheckPoint HR has been our trusted HR partner in processing Amex s payroll for the past three years. We are excited to deploy the company s recruiting tools and employee self service in 2006," she added. CheckPoint HR s comprehensive Human Resource Management System (HRMS) offers a unified platform that integrates all the services it provides onto one intuitive portal giving customers easy access to the CheckPoint HR web site -- there is no hyper-linking to other service providers nor additional costs. This 24/7 single point entry is the destination for an organization to reduce workload significantly and ensure accuracy since data is entered only once to be recorded in all employee administration files. The company s HRMS offers extensive HR and payroll capabilities as well as enhancing human capital, offering role-based security, provides the added value of both manager and employee self-service, and improves workflow with extensive imaging, and storage capabilities.
